People good with geek chic, some help with my wardrobe, please?

Postby jarrel68 » Sun Feb 19, 2012 1:05 pm

Hi! I'm a 20 year old antique dealer, soon to be certified appraiser. No one takes me seriously because I look about 15 years old. (I'm 5'2", 110 pounds with big blue eyes and curly blonde hair) My bohemian style doesn't help. None of the other dealers at auctions take me seriously, even though I often know what I'm talking about, so I'd like to dress up more and look a little older without completely washing myself out. So far I've invested in come cardigans and sweater vests and I bought some argyle tights today....I couldn't resist. Lol! Maybe some Mary Janes? I want to have fun with this and still be respected :) Thank you!

hmm well if you want to look older, you could try less colorful clothes, like greys and whites and blacks, but still in cute cuts. you could also buy some glasses lol and wear your hair up. and maybe some heals. These might seem old ladyish, but thats kinda what your going for right?
or on the other hand, maybe you should just wear what you want and not worry about it, if youve got the skills, youve got the skills and people should take you seriously by your actions.

Get some pencil skirts and try experimenting with your hair. Ponytails often make you look more sophisticated.
